Princes Park is a huge park but
legally us dogs can only be off lead at the North and South ends (see map below). You
could probably get away with being off lead through the fields in-between the
North & South end should you feel rebellious provided there are no
sports being played on the fields.
The South end is only off lead around
the oval and there were not many dogs around the South end. The North end is
where it is at for sure! It's a large grassed area with lots of dogs. When we
arrived there were about 5 dogs but when we left there was easily 10-15 dogs
there all having fun while being well mannered. We really enjoyed this park and so did our humans. There is luscious green
grass with no bare patches and the humans sit on the grass so they are always accessible for pats, cuddles and not to mention making it easier to smell if they are armed with treats :) A few wooden benches are around too, sometimes we like to sit on these especially if people with treats are on them.
It is not fenced off but it is a large
area and there is so much going on there is little chance of running off onto a road unless your human doesn't
pay attention to you for an extended period of time and you have a poor recall.
The track around the park can be a nice on lead walk with plenty to smell and see, although there can be a bit of foot traffic.
